Midwifery will be covered under Alberta Health!

It seems like ASAC and the other proponents of midwifery services have been successful! As of April 2009, you will now be able to have a midwife at home, or in a hospital, and have it covered by Alberta Health! Of course, this doesn't affect this birth at all, since I don't think this baby will wait until April. So we are still footing the $3000 bill. But for all those people out there who are like us, and really had to think hard about shelling out that kind of money to have the birth experience that they wanted, midwifery care is now an option :)

ok, so I suck at using this but my comment has nothing to do with this post and has to do with Autism and babies vaccines!!! I thought you had wrote on this previously but we may of talked about it privately, I really can't remember, pregnancy brain and all!!!! Anyway my question was if you ever did research and what your opinions are on whether or not to get the baby vaccinated? I did a little research, and by a little I mean a little!! LOL But I did find that in the states where the Autism rates are much higher they receive 28 shots by 2 to 3 years and another 4 at 4 to 6 years!! Where in Canada depending on the province, because each has their own schedule of needles, ( I'm using Alberta's as an example) they receive around 17 shots by 18 months with another 3 at 4 to 6 years of age. I know in the states they say there is no mercury in their vaccines (as in canada) but there's speculation that it's still in there!!! Knowing that Canada has stiffer rules in the states, I tend to believe it but we may never really know!!! The few parents that I know that have Autistic children say they knew it in the back of their heads within the first year, not knowing exactly what it was but knew they we're different. Anyway hopefully you're pumping out that baby as I write all this and I know you're probably not going to respond about now with all the waiting going on but I thought I'd put it out there a see what you thought. I'm going to look into it some more before mu next one is born!! Have a pleasant delivery and I'm sending thoughts of dilation your way!!! Can't wait for Maddi to meet her sibling!! Miss you guys!!
